Here's a photo, a
fast Selfie with Queen Elizabeth II: Wherever the British monarch appears, she
looks into a sea of mobile phones. And that apparently doesn't sit well with
the 88 year-old at all.
meist in zahllose Handykameras winken muss.
"Tatler"-Magazin.
London- Queen Elizabeth II is "not amused",
according to a diplomat, that she has to wave to countless camera phones during
most of her public appearances. She misses the face-to-face interaction, so the
British Queen is said to said to the US-Ambassador in Great Britain, Matthew
Barzun. At least so was told to the British "Tatler" magazine by the
diplomat.
The 88-year-old therefore finds it strange to see nothing
other than the backs of mobiles. Attendants of the royal house have already
reported in the past year, the Queen was filmed during a visit to the newly
designed BBC broadcasting house the whole time - by members of the BBC with
smartphones. The monarch perceived this as poor behavior. Musicians have also
complained that they are constantly looked at by phones instead of faces during
appearances.
Elizabeth II didn't seem always to be annoyed if
photographed with phone cameras. In July she cared for the headlines, when she
appeared in the selfie of two Australian hockey players. In the picture's
background the Queen smiled amused into the camera.
A study of the region's spending-power reveals: The differences between east and west are rather insignficant, between and town and country is considerable.
Cologne - The spending-power in the German cities lies well under those in country areas. This results draws on a study of the Institute of German Economics (IW), which will be presented on Monday and made available to SPIEGEL ONLINE in advance. The researchers match the incomes in different regions in Germany with the respective price-levels, in order to determine the so-called relative-spending-power-poverty.
The result: In rural regions, on average just under 14 procent of the population are 'spending-power', but 22 procent in towns. Cologne is segregated particularly badly, where 26.4 procent of the population are affected by spending-power poverty. Followed by Dortmund (25.5%) and several areas of Berlin (24.5%). The differences between east and west are, however, considerably lower if poverty is defined by income alone, according to researchers. Thüringen (13.8%) has the third lowest proportion of all the federal states, afterBayern (12.5%) and Baden-Württemberg (12.7%). The states at the bottom of the table are Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (20.7%), Berlin (22.1%) and Bremen (23.4%).

As consequence of these findings the researchers have called for a lowering in employment, an improvment in childcare and targeted speech training for migrants. The regional policy must also target stronger the bigger towns. At the same time the Institute for employment criticized the national minimum wage of 8.50 euro: Given the spending power in the east has
They know the stage, but the teacher's table? The band 'Glasperlenspiel' takes over a stand-in class for the youth magazine 'Spiesser' and is a little nervous.
Carolin: Hallo, guten Morgen. Begrüßt ihr eure Lehrer immer so?
Carolin: Hello, good morning. Do you always greet your teacher like this?
Alles kichert.
Everyone giggles.
Daniel: Firstly I actually wanted to do a maths test with you...
Carolin: UNANGEKÜNDIGTER MATHE-TEST!
Carolin: An on-the-spot maths test!
Daniel: ...but we were not allowed to. Therefore we thought, we'd talk with you a little about the topic of respect, because we campaign for it. Have you buck?
Klasse: Jooa. Class: Jooa
Daniel: Right then, the first question: Who from you all would like to be treated with respect?
Alle Hände gehen hoch. All hands go up.
Daniel: And do you always handle everyone with respect?
Keine Handzeichen. No hands raised.
Daniel: That is definitely considerably fewer hands. What do you think that is?
Pupil: Perhaps the fact, that my counterpart isn't a person to be respected.
Carolin: Do you not see every person as a person deserving of respect? So as a person, that you must respect?
Schüler: Nein, nicht jeden. Pupil: No, not everyone.
Carolin: In what kind of situation has someone not deserved to be treated respectfully by you?
Pupil: Well, those, who simply get on your nerves and aren't to be taken seriously.
Daniel: I think there are people, with whom you get on better with and there is people, with whom you don't get on with so well. All the same, every person deserves to be treated respectfully. And if you don't get on well with someone, then simply avoid them and say to yourself: Hey, they do their thing, I do my thing and we are all cool with that.
Vincent: Whether you have respect for people, is decided upon what they look like and what kind of clothing they wear.
Daniel: Sure, the first impression counts. But nevertheless one should treat everyone with respect.
Carolin: We want discuss bullying today. Come up and write down what you think.
Gradually more and more concepts are gathered together. Among other things- 'victim', 'fear', 'intolerance', 'abuse', 'humiliation', 'prejudice' and 'jealousy'. Now the class should discuss the matter.
Carolin: What are those people who bully?
Daniel: Menschen, die neidisch auf andere sind. Oder keine Freunde haben. Daniel: People who are jealous of others. Or have no friends.
Sophia: People who have respect for themselves.
Josa: Guys who feel stronger than others.
Carolin: Habt ihr selbst schon Mobbing erlebt? Carolin: Have you yourselves experienced bullying already?
Vincent: People with weak points are always discriminated against. For example, if you have sticky-out ears.
Sophia: Auch Klassenlehrer mobben. Sophia: Form teachers also bully. I was bullied by a form teacher myself and as a result have even skipped school.
Carlo: In primary school a boy was constantly shoved. He was smaller than the others. The older ones named the circle of bullies.
Hannah: Looking away is just easier. Here supervision has already been taken away.
Naomi: People from the forms have hit me with snow. They reckon that I'm not a proper girl. I endured it and found the humiliation rather embarrassing. But even my friend got hit.
Carolin: Wie sollte man darauf reagieren? Carolin: How should one react to it?
Paul: Sich Eltern oder Lehrern anvertrauen. Die können was tun. Paul: Confide in a parent or a teacher, who can do something.
Sasha: Die Mobber ignorieren. Sasha: Ignore the bullies.
Daniel: Das ist in Extremfällen schwierig. Aber drüberstehen ist gut, wenn's geht. Daniel: That is hard in extreme cases. But staying above such things is good when it is done.
Adam: You should find yourself friends - be a group.
Da muss man aufpassen. Daniel: Spot-on, stick together! Find an ally or speak with a teacher or parent about it. Today there is also bullying on the social-web. There one have to be careful. As what is written there can suddenly be read by thousands. It is not like before, wenn someone wrote a cowardly scrawl on the school toilets. And people cannot take anything away of what is written there. There are even young people, who have taken their lives because of it.
Laura: Given that, it depends on the parents. They should control their children more keenly. Nowadays children are left to their devices.
Naomi: I want to know exactly was is written about me on Facebook. The problem is just that most users feel more confident on Facebook than off of the interest.
Sophie: But also you shouldn't make a big hype out of what is written over Facebook. For example you are yourself to blame if you don't take the warning seriously. And shouldn't give the parents the blame.
Just the school has the responsibility to explain bullying and cyber-bullying. Especially there where parents are swamped. It would be best, if experts come from outside the school and would inform people about social media.
Keine schlechte Idee!
Not a bad idea! While Daniel muses that with data on the interest trade can be driven, Carolin interrupts him. The end of the hour has already come. To end Glasperlenspiel give their class for the way.
Carolin: Friendship flows from many sources, most purely out of respect. Wow, nicely said.
