Heimlich verlässt er die idyllische Ranch seiner Eltern in Montana und macht sich auf den Weg nach Washington. Damit beginnt ein Abenteuer mit vielen Hindernissen. Als er in der Bundeshauptstadt ankommt, traut die Jury ihren Augen nicht, die in Unkenntnis seines Alters war. Mit «Die Karte meiner Träume» hat Jean-Pierre Jeunet («Die fabelhafte Welt der Amélie») den Roman von Reif Larsen verfilmt. Der Film ist sowohl in 2D als auch 3D im Kino zu sehen. Neben Kyle Catlett als Wunderknabe spielen Judy Davis und Helena Bonham Carter mit.
